3 Holistic Practices for Everyday

Monday, September 23, 2024

Living a holistic life in this fast-paced consumer-centric society is difficult. We are rewarded for what we can do - produce instead of the person we are. Strangely, ego-centric billionaires are placed on a higher pistol than teachers, caregivers, and the elderly. Instead of following the masses, take a step back. It does not have to be difficult. We often think I don't have the time for that. When it can be easy to do. In this article, you will discover 5 easy ways to live and practice a holistic lifestyle - every day.

Breathwork

Breathing is easy, right? We do it every day, without thought. Breathwork is the practice of deep breathing is ease anxiety. A great place to start is with Arianna Elizabeth Youtube channel. This is a great introduction to breathwork.

Nature Walks / Meditative Walk

Walking in nature or walking with intention can be liberating for a busy mind. Our mind needs time and space to think, sort, and compartmentalize thoughts. If you ever tried to go to bed and go to sleep with a busy mind, you'll find the task nearly impossible. Taking the time out of the day to walk with intention can give your mind the time it needs to "sort itself out."

Digital Detox

Mindfulness Leaders recommend a digital detox once a week or more. In interviews with Tech Billionaires, you often hear them say with their own children they limit the time their children spend online. The slang for scrolling mindlessly through TikTok and Instagram is called brain rot.

Brain rot (or brainrot) is a slang term used to describe internet content of low quality or value, or negative effects (psychological, cognitive, etc.) caused by it. - Wikipedia

The act of laying in bed and "rotting," while spending 30 - 1 hour flipping through stories.

Your mind becomes overstimulated by the lightening information and stretched with roller coaster emotions in short-form videos. Turn the phone off and put it in another room. Set boundaries with your loved ones and/or employer and let them know on "X" day I will have my phone off for the entire day. I will be able to answer your question on the following day. This detox is for you and your well being. You deserve it.

Until next time - ciao.
